ive been searching this forum for a week or two and ive found a bunch of programs to do this but all seem to be lacking a little bit. so with out water marks or spending 5million$ what kind of software would you recomend?

also a side question, do you guys like imgburn as a burning software?

DVDFlick os really good. It does take a little time to complete, but it seems to work great. The best part is its Free. So I sugest you run over to the Downloads section and get it. You will not be disappointed.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee. - Jules Winfield

ImgBurn is the best burning engine out there. Plain and simple. It also just updated.

phillips dvds

on dvdflick there are 4 options, fastest fast norml and best.

the 1st time i used fastest because i didnt know any better, then reading another thread on here they explained that fast isnt good, so i tryed norml and best. all 3 "lagged" on the last 2 burn attempts i even left the computer(so the comp devoted all its resources to the dvd)

Update your firmware, current version is 1.02 and can be found here:

Get some decent discs, I suggest Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden.

There's no substitute for good media. While those cheapy discs may burn and play ok for now, the longevity and quality is more than questionable.

The cost difference isn't that much between cheap iffy media and the good stuff. You wouldn't be disappointed to skip the headaches and stick with the good stuff.

yeah see i looked into that firmware, it says that i have to open my case and make this dvd drive master, then install it then do other suff and that there is a chance it will destroy the drive.

ill pass

my question now is, if these dvds worked b4 with different encoders why wont they now? And its burning the dvd, the dvd just lags when i play it.

That is what the label on the package says....

...the MID tells us who manufactured the discs, Phillips just put their brand name on the outside and it's what is found inside that counts.

Firmware updates contain improvements in write strategies for old and new media and tells the drive how to handle new media as well as other things. If you don't update the firmware your problems will likely continue. If you are uncomfortable doing it yourself you may want to take the PC to a repair shop and have them do it for you.

This is the reason we recommend 'QUALITY' media such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden, they don't show the inconstent quality and compatability issues you are experiencing with your CMag discs.
