WARING! DOING THIS VOIDS YOUR WARRENTY. PROCEED AT OWN RISK
Tools Needed
* Small Screwdriver
* Can of Compressed Air
* Soft Cloth or Towel
* Small Plastic Containers
* Glass Bowl (optional)
1. First, youll need to prep the psp for the face plate change. clean it of any dust and debris on the surface to prevent getting any contaminents on the inside. Next, remove the memory card, the umd in the drive, the battery door, and the battery itself. place the psp face down on a soft surface such as a towel or a shirt folded over a few times
2. Remove the 4 screws from the psp. 2 are visable on the right side and the other 2 are inside the battery compartment. please note that one is under the warrenty sticker and if you remove it, you WILL void your warrenty. you could use a blow dryer to gently lift the sticker up enough to remove the screw, but its risky and you could still void yout warrenty. Place the 4 screws in the plastic container to keep track of them
3. Now that the screws are out, flip the psp over. Remove the analog nub and lift the psp's stock face plate off. Spray it a lil bit with your can of compressed air to remove any dust and put the psp under the glass bowl to keep dust off of it. Now turn your attention to the Analog Unit. Remove the 2 screws from it and swap it over to the new face plate, screwing it down tightly. Next, remove the plastic covers over the buttons and start moving them to the new faceplate. Its wise to remove the buttons one at a time so you can keep their orintation. The last step is to remove the bottom row of buttons. They are held on with double sided so start from the HOME side and remove them, transfering them to the new face plate like the other buttons
4. Now blast the psp with compressed air once again as well as both side of the face plate to remove any dust, then place it back on the psp. Flip it over and replace the 4 screws, tightening them down till there is no gap between the body and the face plate.
Optional Step. Armed with 2 clothes and some Displex, polish the new psp faceplate screen in swirls. Use one cloth to swirl and one to polish till its crystal clear.
