I bought DVD-ROM SH-D162D with KREON V1.00 on ebay.

So far I've had no joy burning games to hdd. I've read numerou tutorials on here to no avail and am getting mad frustrated. The main tutorials i've been trying to copy so far is:

http://www.ultimate-dvdr.com/game-backup...up-creator.html

I have just the drive DVD-ROM SH-D162D connected to my machine as I intend to swap in the DL drive later when I want to copy the images to disc. I have Xbox Backup Creator 2.4 installed and am trying to back up my games but it will not let me. Am I missing something. Backup creator is recognising that kreon 1.00 is on drive already but wil not allow me to start ripping any game.

In the first XBOX 360 Backup creator screen the start and cancel buttons are greyed out and the message "this is not a true 1 to 1 copy of the image. See read me for more details. " is displayed. I have no read me file available anywhere to me/

I also tried using SchtromXtractV32 and get told the drive cannot write discs?

Can anyone please please help, this is very frustrating.

Cheers,

Al.

If everything is hooed up and working correctly it should be as simple as this:

1. Stick original disc in your Samsung PC drive and let it spin for a second and be recognized (if you want to select your drive then you can do that, i personally never do that step but some people do. But i am using a different drive then you SH-D163A)
2. open Xbox Backup Creator 2.6 (now they have 2.7 so you are really out of date)
3. go to tools tab and click unlock drive
4. go to read tab and start it (make sure it is set to read the full disc and not just the current partition)

once image is made you can burn it.

1. open newest version of IMGburn
2. go to mode and select ?write?
3. now browse for and select the .DVD file you just made
4. Select your burning speed, and booktype the media to DVD-Rom if your burner can booktype
5. hit start and burn it.

Will the drive read normal DVD's wothout any problem?

Hey guy,

Thanks for your reply. The drive is set as master for my machine. In regards to xbox backup creator. I have version 2.4. the unlcok disk option is not available unfortunately in the drives current state. Just loading power dvd as no dvd playing/reading software was on the machine. Might have been my mistake. Have another drive for coping wii games previously in machine though and had no probs. will look for 2.7 version. Where can i get it.?

just found speck for 2.7

as follows.

New Version of Xbox Backup Creator... Yay!

Added - Added support for Kreon's SH-D163B firmware
Added - Added support for Kreon's SH-D162D firmware
Added - Verify Disc button on the Drive Tools Tab
Added - Added option to do a Verify Disc after a Burn
(Note: Used ImgBurns build in Verify when selected)

this is more than likely my problem. Will have a look for somewhere to download it from.
