Magic Memory Stick problems - Vista

I've searched the internet from pillar to post for the past couple of days, as I've just got a PSP slim running 3.73 firmware. Little did I know installing CFW would be so difficult!

I'm not stupid, I know exactly what I need to do...I bought a Datel Tool Battery (pandora's battery) and have tried many programs to make the magic memory stick (newbie installer, easy installer, pandora's battery) and NONE of them work with Vista. The problem I'm having is mspformat doesn't work, I get "write error" and the automated ones seem to work fine but then come up with an error to do with not enough space. Is there ANY way around this on Windows Vista? I don't know anyone with XP on their PC's, nor do I have an XP disc I could install another OS on my hard drive with. I'm really stumped....please help!

By the way forgot to mention I have no access to a phat PSP or any other PSP with custom firmware :(

vista is a 50/50 chance of creating the magic memory stick; either it does or it doesn't. there is no way around mspformat; it must be done.

either you have to send in your memory stick to someone on the forum, or find someone near you that has XP; i'm sure someone you know has XP.

I seriously, honestly do not know anyone who has XP...I don't know many people in my area (North Wales). when you say 50/50 chance does that mean if it doesn't work it never will? Or do you mean if I keep trying over and over it might randomly work?

mspformat and msinst (dos) not work on Vista (always gave u an error)
lm think too much extended program and a simple dos commands doesn't work????'c,mon
better try to create Magic stick on XP.

I was just wondering yh.... I am getting a PSP slim, and i also ordered a pandora battery (Datel Tool).

1. I have Vista
2. I have to make the Magic MS
3. I have noticed a new release by C+D

I have heard that if you run that program in compatibilty mode of XP you can use it.... i hope that helps man

I've managed to get 3.90 m33 on my PSP now - in the end I ditched vista completely and have gone back to XP, it's a total waste of time that hardly anything works with. I paid £240 for some speakers and a music recording system and it would't work with vista. So that swayed me! Lol. Thanks anyway :-)
