Hi everyone :)
Im hoping to find an answer here Ive looked over the net for the past day and haven't found jack. My Problem is 18mths ago I got a SGH X660 when I was in Vietnam I then brought it back home to Australia. It has worked fine all this time, but now I have upgraded to a Motorola so I thought Id give the samsung to my 16 mth daughter to play with and she has nearly stuffed it up...
What she did is the bloody fone keeps on trying to send a sim backup to Optus and yet the fone isn't even in credit nor has it been for the last 3 months now. I get about 90 sms's per day from Optus sayin the feature im trying to use is unavailable or I have no credit left, "der yeah Ive stopped using it". Now when i ask Optus how to stop it they say it will happen one day soon but its 3 months later and its still doing it. They have already disabled sim backup feature on the website and said that it should stop it but it didn't. Can someone tell me how to stop the sim card from wanting to do a sim backup? Also when I put the sim card into my new fone it starts trying to do it after about 10mins so its nothing to do with the samsung I dont think?

Next she also managed to do a sim lock, I can use the sim card in any other phone but when I try to use my new sim card in the Samsung I get the message Sim Lock and I need to enter a pin number. I found and tried this below from an earlier thread but it didn't work which is also similar to another I found elsewhere but with the same result too.....

Quote:

1. Turn off your phone, put in a SIM of a provider that it is not locked to, and turn it back on.
2. At the wrong card message, type *#9998*3323#. A message will pop up telling you to press exit, so hit the right softkey. Choose number 8 work, I think). Your phone will reboot and your SIM will work.
3. Type *0141# and then hit call. This will give you a message saying your phone is personalized.
4. Power down your phone and insert a SIM card other than the one that is in it. Power back up your phone.
5. At the SIM code prompt type 00000000, that is 8 zeroes.
Your phone should now be unlocked.

Lastly I rang up Samsung here in Aussie they managed to give me PuK code that worked and yet weren't able to provide me with PIN2 unlocking code (yeah my daughter is gunna be a real techy when she grows up can't wait for her to start with the space shuttle engineers lol) So I need also to get a Pin2 code for this as I have only 1 chance left before everything self destructs. Also the nice guys at sumsung gave me this code *2767*3855# only wished they told me it would wipe everything as I lost all my info and bout 190 photos some of which were of my baby's first 30 seconds of life, so you don't have to fear about me losing anymore info as its already been done.

Here is some details if you need it to help identify the right codes
IMEI: 357993/00/155344/0 S/N: RVFA210731E

cheers
