what drives should i avoid?

im going to purchase a second hand 360 and i want to know which drives i should i avoid and which are the best?(by the way im NOT doing the flashing myself)

dont get the hitachi v79. anything else will be easy to flash. however, if your not doing the flashing, does it really matter what drive it is?

can all the current drives be flashed with ixtreme 1.4?

as far as i know, yes. i could be wrong, but i know the benq and sammy can. pretty sure hitachis can also.

All current drives can be flashed with iXtreme 1.4. BenQ drives are at 1.41. The Hitachi v79 drive needs a passkey chip to be flashed.

Avoid the Hitachi mentioned above. Other than that i would try for a Samsung or BenQ drive as they seem to have less all around problems and seem to work very well.

Regardless of whatever drive you get shoot for getting a 360 that's made in mid 2006 or newer. It's been my experience used ones older that are more likely to have probably reading burnt games.
