I'm using RecordNow Max version 4.10, but when I loaded the program it doesn't read my DVD drive? It only read my CD-RW, I tried enable it and re-installed the software but nothing seem to work...any suggestion?

I'm using version 4.50. I'd suggest you try three things.

1. If it can read CD-RWs, it's more like to be a hardware issue, even if your drive can read DVD-ROMs. Check that you have the latest firmware version for your DVD-Writer. I had the exactly the same problem. A firmware upgrade fixed it.

2. Check that you are using Veritas's latest Px Engine. If not, update it. I live in the UK. I downloaded the file from http://www.orlogix.com, which distributes the software in the UK.

3. If possible, use a brand of media which is recommended by your DVD-Writer's manufacturer. I bought cheap media at the beginning. It caused both hardware and software problems. I'm now using Sony media. It may cost more but it's worth it. I've never had any problem with it no matter what the type of job I've done. I found it useful at first to use rewritable discs to experiment with and to learn about the program. If I got things wrong I just erased the disc and started over until I got it right.

If none of the above helps, try contacting the support team. Orlogix have always given me fantastic support, even when I was using the trial software.

I believe RecordNow is an HP product... so I think it will only recognize an HP dvd writer.

recordnow is a stomp/veritas product now owned by sonic(i think). it is bundled with different drives including hp. the latest version is 4.5. I use it with my matshita (panasonic) with no problems.

You might want to make sure you have the latest updates.
