I've spent the last 30 minutes looking for remote codes on this particular model. Only luck I had was finding some hex codes used on a Pronto touch screen remote. There seems to be some interesting functions that can be performed.

Does anyone know where I could find the codes for the Tosh remote?

Have you tried 0503?

I know that is the code that my remove would use but I havn't tried it with that remote.

The remote that I use that works great is a Logitech Harmony 550 and it doesn't use codes, it uses the model number of the component.

If that doesn't work, try to get a "Learning remote". They are not that expensive and if the codes don't work, you can teach the remote.

Err, I'm not trying to program a remote to my HD DVD player, I'm trying to use the functions within the player itself.

hese codes I found to do something interesting:

- Player display test, all the items in the player display light up and animate: 900A 006D 0000 0001 45B5 C738

- Disc tray lock (for all you folks with kids) on and off: 900A 006D 0000 0001 45B5 C639

- Time and date on players screen (sorry, only for a moment): 900A 006D 0000 0001 45B5 CB34

- Factory reset (you loose all your settings): 900A 006D 0000 0001 45B5 CD32

found discrete code for output HDMI resolution according EDID:

900A 006D 0000 0001 45B5 C43B

works during playback
I tried it too and it actually does toggle between all the modes (480p, 720p, 1080i60, 1080p60 and 1080p24) on my set during playback, although it will prompt that it restarts the movie at least when moving from 480p to 720p.

For instance, if I were to press "Display 195 Display", I would get this:
