According to BBC technology director Ashley Highfield, the company is "strongly contemplating" offering its iPlayer web video service through the new updated Apple TV. Apple's new move to a rental and purchase model would allow the BBC to "mimic the functions of the website while providing a more comfortable TV environment," added Highfield.
