Hi,

So it finally happened after owning my PSP for almost a year with very few problems - I've bricked it.

I've been reading up Pandora battery creation and am unsure about a couple of points - so I'd like to run through my specific case and get some feedback please. (Sorry if it's abit long winded I'm trying to be as clear as possible!)

So - For all that time I've been running the 3.40OE CFW which I bought it off E-Bay with - today I finally decided to make the jump to M33.

I followed this guide on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmOUqnk9rmo
and upgraded to 3.52M33, following another guide from the same guy I got up to 3.52M33-4 no problems. The problems started when I then tried to go to 3.90M33.

I took an installer from here
http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-firmwar...stallation.html
and it said it was possible to jump directly from the 3.52M33 to 3.90M33 - however when I started to run the update it wouldn't accept it and I got an error message, something about idstorage being degraded or corrupt, I goggled it and found out about Chilly Willy's Key cleaner. I downloaded and ran the latest version; I have IC1003 on my motherboard so I ran the TA-082/86 version of Key cleaner. It recognized and repaired on corrupt key (#5 I think - I guess this is from the downgrading done by the ebay supplier when they installed my original custom firmware!)

Then I ran the 3.90M33 installer again (EBOOT.PBP and 390.PBP into the game folder, right?) - this time it ran but it came up with a message that some values in the keys weren't correct and gave me an option of pressing one button to correct them and continue or another to quit installation - I pressed to correct and continue, the whole installation process went through and at the end it asked me to press circle and when I did it bricked.

I have no recovery menu or anything. My PSP is fat (and an Asian version - uses circle for most functions not x) Now from what i've read I've picked up a vague feeling that bricking combined with idstorage key corruption is bad.

So, firstly does this seem unbrickable??

Second, as I don't have access to any PSP, other than my already bricked one, is it actually possible to make the 'magic memory stick'.
I found one thread on another site actually called 'Make Magic Mem Stick (Jigstick) without a PSP' that suggested you could using a package called TOTALNewbieasyInstallerPandorasmenu

but the steps were -

Steps:

1. Boot up your PSP with the memory stick inside.
2. Go to the system settings in the options tab and format the memory stick.
3. Plug in the PSP via USB.
4. Put the device into USB mode.
etc etc

Sure doesn't seem like they are working with a bricked PSP to me! Or I'm really not getting something. Basically I don't want to buy another memory card and new battery to mess about about with if it's not even going to do me any good - thanks for taking the time to read all this - I hope somebody can advise.

Thanks,
Mooncalf

Well I've just found this -

Process #2: Creating the Magic Memory Stick with a bricked psp:
---------------------------------------------------------------
In order to do this, we are going to need a Memory card Reader/Writer.
1)Plug your Memory Stick in via Card Reader
2)Follow the above tutorial from step 2-7

Guess that answers one of my questions - but still would like to know if the corrupt IDstorage is going to cause any problems with unbricking?
