Hello everyone I am new to your site. I decided to join after reading over your forums, everyone is very well versed. My question, I hope will be fast and painless.

I know how to burn games etc. My question is this, after I DL my game, extract my RaR files and burn the image/ISO. Do I need to add a patch for the games to actually run? I will not be playing my ps2 over the net. I use my PC for all my online gaming. I will be using swap magic 3.6 with my flip top slim. Thanks in advance for the help.

Most games would run fine without a patch. Some you might need to patch if they are different region then your ps2 and some games might need to be rebuilt. But most would run just fine.

Thanks, I'm going to go through all the tutorials on the forum. I hit some snags with MDS and MDF with DVD decrypter. DVD Decrypter would not recognize the MDS file. I was thinking about mounting the MDS with power ISO and burning that way.

Are the patches you speak of for running PAL version games on your NTSC system/TV 60 MHZ?

Thanks again for the reply.

Yeah, the only games you have to patch are those for pal if you have a ntsc system and those for ntsc if you have a pal system. If you mount the mds file with either power iso or daemon tools then you should be just fine.

Or if you have a Dell computer, most of the Dell's come with a program called Sonic Record NOW!. I use this to make my backups. Just insert the game and click the "Exact Copy" option. That's it!

Mod your gaming console today!
