Replacement BlueRay Drive?

My friend's blueray drive stopped working. Cannot read any discs, he tried to open it and fix it but it?s still the same. The seal is broken so his warranty void. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement drive?

first of all your friend is a moron.
why didn't he just send it back instead of trying to fix it himself?
second i don't think anywhere sells replacement bluray drives for ps3.
you could try find a broken one with a working drive and swap, but the likelihood of you finding one is slim to none.
best bet is to just buy another ps3.

OK, here's what'cha do:

Go to Wal-Mart.

Pick up a w/eGB PS3(if the HDDs are different sizes then take the HDD out of the one that you bought and swap it when you get home, or just keep it :P)

Take it home, clean your PS3 like it was new and swap it.

Take it back a day or 2 later and just say that it doesn't work, it doesn't read discs or whatever.
