Ok. So what is the difference between: DVD+R, DVD-R, and DVD+RW. I know the basics like +R and -R can only be written one and that RW is re-writtable, but I need to know more technical stuff. For instance which one works best on players? etc..... So if you could just load me with as much information as you can that will be great.

I dont know the actuall technical differences but -R and -RW are cheap , less than £1
for -R and not much more for -RW and a 104 writer is only £200 . Many set top players will play -R and -RW , far less play +R . Have a look at this web site with a searchable list of DVD players to see which work

I reckon -R is the obvious choice and probably the Pioneer 104 as the best drive to go for unless anyone knows something I've missed
