Ok, as you all know HD DVD is going under. DeepDiscount is offering some great prices on their HD DVD media. I'm thinking about buying the HD DVD version of some SD movies I already own. Is it worth the money? - I dunno you tell me.
Here's a few titles I'm thinking about purchasing that I already own on SD DVD:
Shaun of the Dead
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Goodfellas
The Big Lebowski
Apollo 13
Casino
Full Metal Jacket
Coming to America
So, if you own the HD DVD version of any of those movies or, have seen the HD version, what do you think about the quality of the transfer?
Shaun of the Dead - Yes (Simon Pegg fan)
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - Yes (Terry Gilliam fan)
Goodfellas - Yes
The Big Lebowski - Yes
Apollo 13 - Yes
Casino - No/Maybe
Full Metal Jacket - Yes
Coming to America - No
eatsushi, thanks for the quick reply! Yea, I'm definitely going to be buying some today. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw those prices! 12 bucks for an HD DVD! Heck, that's cheaper then the damn SD version.
In regards to FMJ, which one have you seen/own? I think I read somewhere that the Directors Cut was the top quality transfer.

You're right. Don't get the first released version. It didn't get good reviews.
What about Enter The Dragon. That would be really interesting to see. I know when I watched The Shining, that blew me away at how much more detailed it was.
