Is it possible to backup 360 games if i dont have the samsung drive with the kreon thing?
Also, i downloaded an ixtreme 1.4 firmware named iXtreme1.4_Hitachi_C4EVA_rev1
Its 6.7MB.
Can someone tell me if this is legit?

Idk about the being able to burn without the drive but 6.7mb seems rather big where did u get it from

the size might be correct. bc i have a folder with all the 5.2fws in it (the old stuff so everyone doesnt start asking 'hey i thought 1.4 was the new stuff) and the folder is around 6.75mb.

ya 1.37 sounds right for just one file, but my 5.2 folder has FW for each samsung, each hitachi, so yea. but idk...

You could always pick up a Samsung MS25 or MS28 xbox drive, however it's a lot more difficult than using the Kreon drive and not cheap enough to warrant it.

Yes. A dual layer burner will rip them with the right software and procedure. Try google to find out how. A ms25/ms28 360 drive will do it as well. But as mentioned above, it's not worth fussing with when the samsung/kreon flashed drive will do it without the extra steps/hassle.
As far as the 1.4 you have: my hitachi ixtreme file, unrared, is 14.7 MB straight from xbins. Same file name, minus the _rev1 part.

ok now i also added an image related to the xtreme 1.4 thing.
Does it look familiar to anyone.
I forgot where i got it but i just searched all over the web.
I cant get access to xbins and have tried over 5 tutorials. The new MIRC is different and the tutorials use the old ones.

yea and back to the samsung thing, since i dont have the samsung, ill have to go back to the hotswap.
If i dont have a large DVD 8gb+ in my house, can i just fill up a dual layer with 8.5MB of data and use that as a swapping cd?

Why cant you just get a Samsung. Why do u have to so difficult haha jk but idk I think it has to be a real dvd beacuse you need to change some code or something that the dvd brings with it

the thing is that im still not old enough to get a credit card. I cant order stuff off the internet myself. Just yesterday, i had to ask a parent to order that sata card from newegg.
but im really into this hacking game console thing. I flashed my psp back in the day. That didnt require much equipment. Now i wanna flash my 360 and i try to use minimum equipment.
I dont watch movies so i dont have the origonal dvd.
Its complicated to hotswap with an external USB Sony DL drive. The disk will come flying out like a boomerang without the top on.

haha man i know how that feels i totaly jacked my moms credit card back when i was doing mine a long time ago. Cost me like 150+ for all the drivers and cards and what not to even mod the 360. She wasnt to happy with me but i paid her back. I did the swaping thing once its not to to hard but its so much easier when u have the right stuff. As for the dvd just borrow a friends or go to a movie rental place.
