Hello, I have a modded V9 with a cheap Neo12 modchip that does the job.

Recently I bought a Seagate 160Gb HDD (ST3160815A) that is on the list of working hard drives. I formatted it with Winhiip using the 48bit HDLoader option, with the default values at first. Then I added a bunch of games that showed up fine in Winhiip. I installed it in the PS2 and booted up with 2 different versions of HDLoader (0.8b+ 0.7c). Two were CD, one was DVD. I get a hardware error, HHD not detected.

When I turn the PS2 on, I can hear the HDD spin. I can also hear it kinda re-spin right before I get the HDLoader error. I'm pretty sure it's not the disk spinning.

Now I've tried it on a friend's PS2 and I get the same results so it's not my PS2. The Network Adapter works perfectly fine for online playing and content downloading.

The last thing I did was a full format, 48bit again, but I put every option down to 0Mb except the ones that can't be changed (which was advised in the help section).

I have left the jumper on MASTER all the time (even on my PC because I don't have any IDE HDDs in the machine), tested it on "CABLE SELECT" because I read that some guy got it working that way, but it didn't help in my case.

Now the only thing left that I can see is try a different Network Adapter even though it works fine for online functions. Should I try running HDLoader off the MC? I'm not sure if that would make any difference which is why I'm leaving it for last.

This is really getting frustrating.

I can also see a yellowish orange light flash from inside the PS2 when it boots up.
