Ive been reading up on modding the ps2 to play backed up games.....I have the fat ps2, and ive searched and read so many articles that I am now officially confused....I would like to back up a couple of my games and play them. I need to know what is the best idea....ive read about a fliptop case, is the flip top all I need or is there something else to work with it...here is a site I found with the fliptops. I am really new at this, like I said I am really confused on what is the best way...I do not know if I would be capable to solder things in, is there a plug-n-play, I dont know....also need to know hwere to but everything from...If some one could help me please

If you don't want to go the modchip route then swap magic is your best bet since it is nice and simple. For the fat ps2 you will swap magic disc AND either a flip top case or a slide card (knife trick)or you can just leave the top open on your ps2. Basically the swap magic disc to use as a boot up disc and the flip top or slide card so that you can take out the swap magic disc without the ps2 knowing you took it out. As for where you buy it just do a search for swap magic on here or google and I'm sure you will find a site or two.

Im pretty new at this myself but the best way i found that works without any moding saves money time is create a memory card exploit useing action replay. Also a hardrive is the best way to backup the games it saves the life on the lens of ps2 & load times are nearly instant.

your best bet is find some tutorials about memory card exploit useing action replay or codemasters disc & hardrive installing for ps2.

Im still working on my setup but im enjoying the speed and loadtimes of the games and haveing to search for my discs everytime

Yup, that's it. Santaro is right that you can create a memory card exploit (technically still a mod)but if you don't have action replay you would need some way to get the exploit on your system first. As for the hard drive route you would need the ps2 network adapter (probably can find one on ebay) and of course a compatible hard drive. That's why I said Swap magic is the easiest route since the things you have to do aren't as involved as the memory card exploit or the hard drive method.

Hi.So im kind a new to ps2 modding.I hawe ps2 like for 4 years and now im thinking of moding it so i wont need to buy need for speed pro street on the ps2 but simply download and burn it.So im thinking about Action Replay Max.Is this the only thing i need to get?

And will this one work for me? PS. i made the slide card
