Can You Install Old Custom Firmware Themes On 3.90 M33-2?

I have a fat psp with 3.90 M33-2 and I want to put custom themes on it. I found a few cool ones but they say: Requires Firmware (firmware here. I dont want to brick my psp.

As long as you make a back-up of your original flash folder you'll be fine. After you make a backup, delete the dic folder(this is to free up space on a phat) and just drag and drop the font and vsh folder and when promted to overwrite, click yes to all.

Mine didnt come with a vsh folder only a resource folder. So I put the font in ms0:Flash0 and the resource in Flash0:vsh. Then when it went to the XMB it froze! DONT WORRY I BACKED UP MY FLASH0 FILES and fixed it! I really liked this theme is there any way to fix it?
