Is it possible to downgrade a psp slim sliver? If so how?
I've heard about the pandora's battery and stuff. Also do I really need an extra battery for pandora's battery?

You cannot downgrade a PSP slim to 1.50 :)
You'll have to make your magic memory stick such that it directly installs a custom firmware on your PSP :)
HERE is a nice guide to do so :)
If you have another PSP having cfw, then use THIS guide :)
PSP slim batteries do not serve as good pandora batteries :)
So, it's better if you buy the original "Sony "standard" Li-ion 1800 mAh" that came for the PSP classic :)
HERE is a list of working and non-working batteries for pandora :)

You don't have to downgrade a PSP slim to 1.50... Just install DAX's TimeMachine v0.1

Not True. Slim batteries work fine if you're going to mod them to a permanent pandora. Still go buy a second battery to play with. I'm too lazy to softmod a battery. Well, I guess with Time Machine it doesn't really matter, I'll boot the PSP off a pandora anyways.
To create 3.80 M33-5 Magic Stick and install Time Machine.

TimeMachine lets you boot firmware versions of old.
Get TimeMachine (v0.1) files here
Get Firmware EBOOTS here
Get 360.PSAR here
Follow the directions here
Oh BTW, I recommend making a magic stick using DCv3 instead of v4 then just upgrade to 3.90 M33-2. You can use this file for making magic memory stick (DCv3).
Enjoy!

Even I prefer DC v3 over DC v4 because DC v4 installs 3.80m33-5 which still has bugs >_>
DC v3 installs 3.71m33-2 and an update to 3.71m33-4 will make the firmware totally bug-free ^_^
