Is diode fix needed for GH-051-02 PS2 Slim?

I've got a PS2 Slim 770001 with a GH-051-02 main board. Do I need the diode fix (I'm installing a Modbo 4.0)? If so, where can I find instructions for installing it? Also, what's the best place on the board to place the mod chip?

GH-051-02 is Version 15 (A). No they do not need laser fix.

Modchip on slims are mostly placed in the blank area on the right on the 1 and on teh bottom of 1.

I placed my chip on the bottom left as per that picture (next to area 3). I'm having some minor problems, but I'm going to make another thread about that. Thank you.
