I recently found a website advising that everytime you burn with DVD Shrink, it "leaves a little something behind". I was able to use that information to clear up some extra space on my computer but I do not remember where these files are located and am wanting to do the same thing again... anyone have any idea what I'm referring to? It's not the temp file you use when burning, there was an additional file for each backup. Any help would be appreciated!
It's not just Shrink that leaves stuff behind. Many programs do. All that kind of stuff is usually stored in folders called 'Application Data' under Documents and Settings under your root directory. You can use Windows Explorer's Search tool to find them. There will be several Application Data folders.
I tried searching for Application Data but had no results... I am using Windows Vista so it may be under another name - I have just recently begun using it. I also don't see the Documents and Settings folder that I had with XP, I think that may have another name with Vista also.
It's C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\DVD Shrink - but each analysis file is only a max of roughly 20kb. Are you really that hard up for free space ?
shrink also leaves the whole movie that it has made, so you have to remove the backup files that it used, you could use the search fuction on your system and search for vob"s
With XP,the quick analysis files of dvd shrink are in a hidden folder as default-just gotta go to tools/folder options/view/and tick show hidden files/folders/OK.
