Hi everyone,

I'm new here, I hope I'm posting this in the right place...

I recently decided to install custom firmware on my PSP so I could put all my legit games on a memory stick to save having to carry all the UMDs around all the time.

The upgrade went very smooth. I'm running 3.90 M33-2.

I'm using an 8GB mem stick.

The problem I'm having is that once I put more than 3 ISOs on the stick then only 3 of them show-up in the Games list. However, individually they all show-up and run fine.

Does anyone know why this might be?

I've tried reformatting the card multiple times but the problem doesn't go away. (Infact sometimes the max number of games that show-up is only 2, but usually it's 3.)

My only theory is that I think I have a "fake" memory stick, as the MagicGateTM is reported as "Unknown" in the memory stick Properties page. (Incidentally, the User Capacity of the stick is reported as "7903 MB".)

Would having a fake stick cause the problems I'm experiencing?

Would anybody be wiling to say with reasonable certainty that if I got a genuine 8GB stick this problem would go away?

Thanks in advance for your help,

erp.

Yep it's definitely fake. I'm having the same problem with a 4GB memory stick. I know it's fake and it also won't show all the ISOs I load onto the memory stick. I put 8 on and only 2-4 ever show up.

Hi everyone. The memory stick did turn out to be the problem. I got myself an 8GB SanDisk stick with "supported" MagicGateTM and everything works fine now. And to top it all off I actually managed to get a refund off the eBay seller who sold me the counterfeit, so all in all it's a happy ending. Thanks to everyone who replied.
