Hey guys,

Well i am trying to add in another fan, because I wanna keep the ps2's HD running extra cool...here are some thoughts I have, please tell me your thoughts or improvements

1) Using the USB and make a fan mod using 2 40mm fans, from the front, next to the grill.

-now USB provides a +5v, does the fire wire utilize a +12v line?

2) Use a molex pass through with the network adapter

3) Is there anywhere on the mobo (39001) where i can attach a ground and hot wire to to power a fan (+12v is a good idea)

4) I have an extra ps2 fan,
now would I be able to solder that to the original PS2 fan and then connect both of them to the mobo, now if I do that, will each fan be getting 1/2 as much power?

5) Is there anyway to mod the network adapter to provide power to a fan?

THANKS

no extra cooling is needed. i've had my ps2 on for over 24 hours (TXR0 mileage trick), and the hdd was only warm to the touch. the ps2 fan keeps it cool enough.

just don't block any airflow around the ps2.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

im just worried cuz i will be using a 320gb 7200rpm harddrive, and those are usually much more than warm

also

i am using a v7, which i heard run warmer than v10, also I noticed that the heatsink found on the v7 is much smaller the v10

my ps2 is a v7 (39001) and my hdd is a maxtor 300gig (320gigs when used in computer), running 7200rpm. it's had no cooling/overheating problems.

the ps2 fan will run faster, but it's completely normal. it's designed to help cool any hdd in the expansion bay.
