hi. im just wondering if anyone can help me. my x button on my psp doesnt work. it will only work fine 100% when the ac power is plugged into it. other times it will work when i activate/de-activate the hold button, or not at all. its a older(large) psp. i already changed out the abxy circuit board, and made sure all my connections were put back properly. its just weird that it works only when the battery is in. can someone please help me? thanks in advance.

3 things that i can think of

1) have you tried taking out the ribbon for the abxy board there may be a loose connection there but i bet you've tried that already
2)are they custom buttons like what you get when you change the faceplate.
3) give the faceplate and all the buttons a good clean

but because you said it works when the battery's in you said it works all of the above might fix it if it didnt work with that battery in or the ac adapter in

yeah ive tried everything from cleaning, to replacing the abxy board. the psp is totally stock. it will only work when the power supply is plugged in. and also if the power supply isnt plugged in. it seems as it is "stuck". because if i put it on hold and then release hold it will select whatever the cursor was on. so yeah its really weird.i dont have another battery to test it with. could it be the battery?
