d2ckey or wiikey?

Hi everyone,

I have a wii that I purchased last november. I know for a fact that it has a d2c drive. I recently had it modified, but now I'm suspecting that the guy who modified my wii, most likely swapped the drive with an older one, and obviously installed a wiikey. But I'm not 100% sure this is the case.
However, the reason I think I now have an older wiikey modified drive is:

It will not play any DVD movies.

Are there any other tests I can run, besides opening the case and looking inside, to find out what kind of chip my wii has?

is the fact that my wii wont play any movies reason enough to know that it is not a d2ckey?

Any suggestion you may provide would be greatly appreciated.

You can't play DVD movies on your Wii without some serious messing about... it's not worth the hassle and your assumption that popping in a modchip, D2CKey or other, would automatically facilitate DVD movie playing is totally wrong.
