COD4 Prestige mode

Anyone know how many prestige levels there are?
I've been round 3 times I think and my badge is a gold diamond with a green center.
I'm assuming the last prestige level is what looks to be a gold plus.
Is there a list or something which shows the badges/ranks in order?

Prestige mode lets you trade in all your weapons, perks, and others to start back at Rank 1.

And not to mention it gets repetitive and boring as heck, and all for what a different little symbol no one really cares about? Thats why I'm back on Rainbow 6 training for Vegas 2. COD4 is just a bunch of little kids yelling at each other, Rainbow is a much friendlier atmosphere with a lot more teamwork.

RB6 Vegas 1 has been out for about 6 months now, RB6 Vegas 2's release date is March 21st, and I'm stoked for it.

Let's be honest, COD4 is one of the best games on the PS3. In terms of graphics, frame rate, and online play, it's definitely better than Vegas. The 1080i problem with Vegas was very annoying. I still liked it a lot though. The single player ending ruined it for me. But I guess it's okay because it leads into part 2. It was still a cop out though.
You might just be playing the wrong online modes. There are a lot of modes that heavily rely on teamwork. I forgot what it is called, but I just tried one where you gotta protect whomever it is on your squad that has the package or something. That was really cool, but it'd be best with your friends. As you said, there are a bunch of kids on there (who don't turn down the music and/or the microphone).
I am excited about Vegas 2. I'm glad that a bunch of great titles are coming out for the PS3 soon.
Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

Oh it wasn't the game play I had a problem with, and yes I've played all of the game types including search and destroy many many times as you had mentioned; and I myself am 2nd prestige, though I could be higher I decided to stay at the 2nd because I'm not going to bother doing all the crap over again and I'd like to keep the things that I had unlocked.
My main problem with it is their stupid ranking setup. Prestiging is stupid and you get no real reward for it besides a different but not necessarily better symbol. Because of all the prestige modes they made ranking up far too easy; and as a result any noob can get the best weapons in the game with a few hours work. And not to mention it gets repetitive unlocking the same old junk over and over again and not keeping even the gun camo which you had earned.
They should have thrown prestige mode out the window and only had one set of ranks which took alot of effort to get promoted.

I prefer the Resistance ranking. With private, sergeant and so on, although I'm just lieutenant right now because I don't play that much.
GENERATION 98: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and subtract 1 from the generation. Social experiment.

I did not know that. I thought with Prestige, they would've unlocked some killer guns (no pun intended), maps, outfits, or whatever. If it is just different icons, who the hell cares? lol
I'm definitely a fan of the game but I probably won't go beyond the 55 level. Yeah, I don't think I'm doing Prestige lol.

Now you're seeing my point of view ^.^' I only reason that I went as far as the 2nd prestige, is because that's all there was to play, and that's all my friends were playing.

I'm currently at level 32, 6th prestige. I like the gametypes and I get better with different weapons every prestige. If I didn't have prestige mode I would probably start a new account after I rank up to the highest level. It's a good way to keep attention. As for Vegas 2, I'm torn between getting to my prestige 10, level 55, and starting up training for vegas 2.

My suggestion wasn't simply the removal of the prestige's but to up the amount of exp it takes to go up a level by a large amount. So when you hit lvl 55 it would be the equivalent of getting 10th prestige.

Yeah I see what you're saying. At the same time though, resistance didn't give you perks based on rank, but it took forever to rank up on that game. Rainbow Six gave you guns and armor and stuff which was cool, but can also lead to people getting schooled by guys with awesome guns. I think prestige shows a certain amount of skill. I and my clan all tool people that sit a 55 all day long. Just because you have an MP44 doesn't mean I can't destroy your face with some worthless gun. It's fun to show people that you really are skilled and you can beat them with little to nothing.

Most of the guns I use more frequently are the base guns or close to it anyway. I just find that it takes the fun away from unlocking things if it takes no effort and you unlock them again and again. Besides you should get some kind of payout for your hard work that someone who just jumped on an hour ago cant get, besides the symbol. Afterall whats the point of having unlockable things if theres no effort involved.

I kind of like the badass factor of prestige mode. People get upset when our team of six and seventh prestige is against the guys at level 39 with no prestige. It's like you know you're going to get wrecked before it happens. Rather than just being high-ranked it says that we're higher ranked but have fewer weapons. It's even better in my opinion.

Actually 616 in total because you have to fill up the 55th level and the levels required to get to prestige in the first place.
