Thanks in advance, I'm trying to back up my son's MX vs ATV but XBC never gets going when opened-I can't click on " complete back-up" but i hear my drive whizzing, and schtrom says "insert a xbox disc"..........I have flashed sammy 162c drive and original game looks pretty good, ie : scratch free.

when using XBC hit the drive tab, and hit the unlock button, might take a couple of times until it says 7.05 gigs. then you should be able to back it up.

for the unlocking part oh, about 2 seconds i imagine. for copying the game to your computer, prob around an hour. and about 45 minutes to burn it.

Those Sammy drives can be very picky when it comes to discs, i know that mine is once in a while. One scratch could be stopping it from reading right. But here is my method if your interested, it will not fix the problem if a scratch is causing the drive not to read the disc though.

1. Stick original disc in your Samsung PC drive and let it spin for a few second and be recognized
2. open Xbox Backup Creator (latest version)
3. go to tools tab and click unlock drive
4. go to read tab and start it (make sure it is set to read the full disc and not just the current partition)

once image is made you can burn it.

1. open newest version of IMGburn
2. go to mode and select ?write?
3. now browse for and select the .DVD file you just made
4. Select your burning speed, and booktype the media to DVD-Rom if your burner can booktype
5. hit start and burn it.

Nothing working...when i go to unlock drive in XBC, it says "already unlocked".....I just put this sammy drive back in, it's been out of PC for about 2 months. One other thing....the title page never shows available hard drive space...i seem to remeber that from before. Schtrom not working either..sits @ 0%

weird, wonder if the settings or drivers for that DVD-Rom got messed up. Check the device manager (control panel->system->devoce manager)
and go into the hardware section and make sure the drive is in DMA mode
also make sure when your using XBC that you are selecting the model of Samsung drive you are using in the drop down menu at the top.

It is weird how it worked fine, then you re-install it and now it will not work at all.
