I had a first gen 360 system that I had modded, I made backups of all my games using ISOBUSTER, DVDINFO, XBOX360 MERGER, and cd clone. All games worked on my old system. Now I bought a newer system and had it modded, when I try and play my old backups it just says "To play this game, insert into xbox 360" I have no idea what this means if the mod didn't work or if I have to make new backups or if I just need to do the ripping a differnt way. If anyone has any ideas please help me out.

Could be a few things
1. could be that your old system had old firmware that would play non-stealth games and the new one has the new firmware that will not
2. could be that the new systems laser just will not read the media you used correctly
and i am sure a few other things but those are what i would check into first.

I think most likely that your games are non-stealth which the older firmwares were ok with. But the newer firmwares will only play stealth games.

Ok, I ripped and burnt a new backup of NDS: Carbon, using Xbox backup creator I ripped the game then extracted SS, PFI, DMI sectors and converted to split vid,(no idea what that does) then I burnt the .dvd file with imgburn at 2.4x on a verbatim dvd+r DL and everything works. Sooooo does anyone who what I did to make it work? just different format?

no idea other than now you have a stealth copy.
Are you using the Kreon flashed Samsun DVD-Rom to make them?
If so then i have no idea where you get all of those steps to back up a game. I press two buttons and i am done.

No, XBC will work just fine. It is the only proram i have ever used to do them. I only did one with Schtrom just to see how it worked.
But here is the total process.
1. Stick original disc in your Samsung PC drive and let it spin for a second and be recognized
2. open Xbox Backup Creator (latest version)
3. go to tools tab and click unlock drive
4. go to read tab and start it (make sure it is set to read the full disc and not just the current partition)
once image is made you can burn it.
1. open newest version of IMGburn
2. go to mode and select ?write?
3. now browse for and select the .DVD file you just made
4. Select your burning speed (i like 4X on a 6X max speed Verbatim disc), and booktype the media to DVD-Rom if your burner can booktype
5. hit start and burn it.

When you get a chance i would update the firmware on that drive because Kreon released an update not to long ago.
Quote:
Changes/fixes in this release..
--------------------------------
- Major cleanup of code - the SH-D162C and SH-D163A now share the same code. This has been a painful job to do, but will make future updates so
much easier to handle.
- The firmware is now based on the official SB01 firmware as opposed to SB00 for earlier releases.
- Fixed a potential problem with the way that the RPC patching was done.
- The laser head is now parked in a known and safe position following SS extraction. This should fix the clicking noise, that some people
experienced from time to time.
- RPC settings stored in flash mem of the drive is now reset. This is not important for the patched firmware, but will leave the RPC settings as
they came from the factory, if someone, for some strange reason, should decide to go back to a non patched firmware.
- The feature list has been expanded to hold seperate feature entries for XBOX and XBOX360
- Fixed a bug that caused flashing of the drive to fail under some conditions (read "updating from V0.80.." below)
