First things first. The problem is the analog joystick pulls up and to the left by itself, at all times. I can move it down and right, but it will just pull itself back up and left as soon as I left go. It's not the joystick itself, because I've torn down the psp to its bones, put the battery in and used a screwdriver to complete the connection to the sensors or whatnot on the main board. It still pulls up and left. I've taken the board completely out and checked it front and back and there doesn't seem to be any bad connections and it's not dirty by any means. I'm not exactly sure on how all this stuff works, but it seems when I make a connection between the top two ?gold plates? on the board, the stick will move right. Does anyone have an explaination why it keeps pulling left and up? Thanks.

you'll laugh but try loosening the screws on the analog stick it may be that you've tightened it too much so it cant get a connection

Well, I tried your theory. And I'm not sure if it helped or not. But I was messing with it with the front of the case just sitting on, not screwed in. It's obviously loose as it's just sitting on the rest of the PSP, but I realize that when I sqeeze it together now, it works again. But if I let it loose any at all, the stick goes haywire now. So apparently it's fixed, hehe, not sure exactly how or why, but thanks regardless. :)

And it's been like a year since I've used my PSP, but I don't remember the cursor going so slow with the analog stick... am I missing something, or has it always been slow?

i have a load of problems with my analog stick doing the same thing.
the analog stick does go slow when it becomes disconected an the reconnected try turning it on and then of if it still goes slow then its still not connecting well so tighten up all the screws for the faceplate

Well, n/m with that last question... I restarted the PSP and tried it again and the cursor seems like it's moving at a normal speed now too... Sorry for wasting your time reading this thread, lol. Apparently all I had to do was take it apart, put it back together, then reboot it... that seemed to have fixed all my problems. :D
