I need help on choosing a certain file sharing application... I've gone through kazaa, lime wire, bear share, winmx and they have all had certain problems. I just need a program that has fast downloads and has a large selection in movies/tv shows without spyware. please give some recomendations!!
thanks

Wow that lineup is pretty bad lol!

I say the best for fast d/l's of movies tv shows would be a tie with emule and bittorent. But I look for it with bittorent first before emule(takes longer with the mule but they'll must likely have it.)

Don't forget to get some security(zonealarm, peerguardian, ipfilter that comes with emule), you don't want to get caught by the fuzz lol.

good luck(side mote neither 1 is good for music(unless d/l whole album) so might want to Ares out(basically a napster clone).

no prob,

BTW you should try www.btsites.tk , they have every thing bittorrent you need(links, programs, trackers).

As for your emule prob, did you connect to server first? Or you might have to update your serverlist(push update or go to faq section on emule home page).

And yeah Ares is pretty new and I wouldn't reccommend for movies/shows lol!!

mIRC is really good, once you learn to use it. There are so many channels and servers, the problem usually isn't if mIRC has it, but rather how to find it;)

(www.packetnews.com is a good search engine)

It's quite different than P2P program though, so it may take some ttime to learn.

Let's go OILERS!!

ok just kidding... my downloads arent working, it keeps saying the file (whatever file im trying to download) cannot be found. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file click the start button and then click search. this sucks... i think it might be because i'm behind a fire wall, do you know how i could fix this problem? or how i could route Bittorrent through my fire wall?

hmm... I don't know much about firewalls( I use zonealarm myself), but i do know for sure that you must open up ports "6881 to 6889"(forwarding these ports speed d/l's real nice as well :o)) for bittorrent to work right.

It may be even the client you're using(I use ABC, but I heard TorrentStorm And Azereus are pretty good as well). If this doesn't help go to www.lickmytaint.com(the only real helpful forum for bittorent in my opinion).

As for where the good stuff is lol, suprnova.org no question!(go to the link site I gave cause suprnova has ALOT of mirrors some don't work right). After that you can go down the line from bytemoonson, topdogs, hawkies,Filesoup(There really annoying cause they require you to register!).

gl and happy holidays

I was a user of AudioGalaxy till it was cratered.

I then went to DC. I like DC for several reasons. You can get whole alumbs with covers. Something you can't usually get on Kaaza.

I also like the fact that mostly the connections on DC by their members are largely broadband. Rarely do you find viruses and spoofed files within DC. While they will not take just anyone, depending on the hub you connect to, I do like the idea of private hubs where membership is restricted. It keeps a lot of the fakers and leeches out and gives folks a bit of security.

You will never catch me on Kaaza where viruses roam free and seems to be the RIAA playground.
