Need help with PSP FAT Motherboard ta082

Ive just started trying to mod my PSP fat. A friend of mine lent me their PSP Slim with m33 3.71 installed to create the battery. I sucessfully created the Pandora's Battery on the slim and then transferred it to the Fat to begin cfw installation. The firmware installed sucessfully on the fat but once I rebooted it was semi bricked and booted to the red screen with no icons. I entered the recovery mode and used the recovery files from this site to fix it. The files begin to run and then tell me that a patch and flash is necessary to continue due to the TA082 Motherboard. After this process completed it asked me to press X to reboot, but was unresponsive to this so I manually rebooted it to find a fully bricked psp. Ive managed to unbrick it and retried the entire process to no avail.

Can someone please offer some advice/suggestions?

Also I figured it could possibly be due to some component in the bundles of software necessary to change fw being from unreliable sources. So if this may be the case please try to suggest the most reliable sources.
