In the hunt for a new DL DVD burner that will will allow me to burn playable 360 games. Getting a little confused. Remember this is just for burning and it also has to be SATA as it seems all the new mobos have only 1 IDE controller this round and I need those for my disc drive,

The IDE cables have 2 connectors on it, your going to have a much easier time i would imagine getting an IDE. But yea any dl burner will work i'm using one of the older original d/l burners (don't remember brand), and it works just fine. Also if your going for a new build since your talking about new mobo's your much better of going w/ sata hard-drives instead of the disk drives, there are many more choices.

SATA equipment is just known to be a bit faster. But like above you can always just get an IDE burner and then do all your hard drives as SATA.
I have an MSI 975X Platinum Power Up Edition motherboard and it has a bit of both. It hase one main IDE that can take just a master device. Then it has a second IDE that can take two more. Then it has 5 SATA slots. It is an older and probably cheaper motherboard then the newer stuff but i have no complaints.

I am sure MSI has some newer version motherboards that would be very similar. Like this one:

they always get very good customer reviews.

as far as burners i really like BenQ myself. Especially those that use the Q-Suite 2.0 program.
