Ok i will first off tell you guys that im a major noob when it comes to burning games. I just want a easy way to backup my original xbox 360 games to my pc and then burn them to a disc and play it on Xbox without getting kicked out of Xbox live.

Not every dual layer burner can burn backup games I found this out the hard way last night my new Samsung sata drive made a Wright balls up of backing up of assassin?s creed but when I burned the same image with my Sony drive worked perfect

That is odd. Burning an image is burning an image. Some do a better job then others but usually a firmware upgrade for your burner can solve that.
Really, any burner should work. I would just pick a top brand when buying one.

With the name Samsung behind it would say it is a top brand first time I tried to burn a game with it and when it went tits up didn?t want to waste another disk so that?s why I tried it in my Sony drive the Sammy burned it ok but failed the verification and when I put the disk in the Xbox couldn?t read it but the burn with the Sony was ok loaded straight away checked all settings dma etc all seem ok

Yes, Samsung is surely a top name which is why i am so surprised that it failed to back up a 360 game which is simply burning an image.
Did you try updating the firmware for it? I know i had a firmware update on my Sony when i had it from the first day i took it out of the box:

Since that lousy Sony i have moved up to a BenQ and have never looked back.

ya im going to have to say that something is wrong with your samsung burner, as i've burnt about 150 games with my samsung with no problems at all. i think ive only had one or two coasters and one was due to a power outage, lol.

6 months old firmware is ancient in this area.
