I just bought an 8GB memory stick off E-bay. It looks completely real, but it says MagicGate Unknown when I look at it's information. Is this because PSP's don't recognize 8GB memory sticks yet, or is it definitely fake? If it is fake, is that grounds for returning it? Also, if it's fake, what are the actual disadvantages?

The bad thing is:
Games can be corrupted
Loose alot of memory
there is more..
Its 100% fake, because the PSP shouldnt have any problem to read the card unless your PSP got some fabric problems(which it doesnt, i think).
I think you should try to return it

no, it's 'cos it's a fake.

er, yeah.

speaking from personal experience, they are poorly made, totally unrealiable and in the long run, not really a bargain at all.

My friend bought a fake 4gb and he copied all his files to it and they all got corrupted. Didn't run iso's, piece of junk. Try and return it.

you have to be lucky with them i'v got a fake 4gb and touch wood never had a problem with any files on it but it is falling part but so did my genuine 1gb sandisk pro duo.
so if your lucky you might not have a problem.
the other thing is you'll have a hard time sending it back if you do because they'll say that it say somewhere that it was fake or something like that

*Touch Wood*
Bought a 4gb fake from ebay last summer. Only gripe is that it takes longer than average to load up the files other than that it was an amazing bargain (£20) - No problems.
Fat PSP: 3.03 oe-c (will update when i have time :P)

Ok... I haven't had any problems with it and I've been using it forever. It plays ISO's and everything perfectly; nothing is corrupted. I guess I'm just lucky.
