Hi all expert
I don't have a floppy drive on my pc I would like to know if I boot from my usb drive to flash my ( Hitachi)? and what is the lastest firmware for Hitachi drive? Thank you all for your responds in advance

Sorry but it has to be a floppy drive if you have ever owned a computer with a floppy you may have noticed that if you forget the floppy in and boot up your computer it will give you an error asking you to remove the disk. This is because floppy drives are read by the computer even before the hard drive.

boot from a cd.
what your pc boots from depends on how you set the bios.
if you have it set to read from floppy first it will, if you have it set to cd than the a floppy wont read first the cd will.

chess what the hell are u talking about? Yes you can use a usb drive. But you wont be needing a usb for the hitachi drive. Your going to need a Slax cd to put your system into mod B. So you will need to boot from that cd. And the newest firmware is iXtreme 1.41 i think.
