Good afternoon people of afterdawn.

I'm new to this community but it seems wicked and really huge. I was wondering if you could answer a few questions about the plausibility of some hardware hacks i want to do.

A while back i was really into the xbox modding scene. Presently i have an xbox that is painted, and modded up the... well you know. At any rate I have a ps3 now and i want to use my dual shock 2 with it. If i can get it working it might open up a few new ideas later on. My question is, does the ps2 use a usb interface like xbox does for it's controllers? Would it be as easy as splitting the wire into a male usb end like i did for some of my xbox controllers? Or am i going to need to build a circuit for a converter. I ask this because i have seen many of these converters on the net and they all claim to make dual shocks compatible with the ps3 as well as computers with the right drivers.

can anyone at least give me an idea of what some of the pins are responsible for or maybe some place where i could look?

Wel its not exactly an answer but there are quite a few ps2 to ps3 converters on ebay..
