DVD playback has green picture?

When playing a dvd in my ps3 the picture goes green, its watchable but has a bright green tint. Id test it with a blue ray movie but I dont have any so I can't. Anyone know any solution to this? Thanks.

Do you have it plugged into a DVD Recorder and what cables are you using.

No its not, Im using a gold plated scart lead going from my ps3 to my TV (not HD)

Are you sure its pushed in properly and there are no pins bent.

Yeah its fine when im on the xmb, just when I play a dvd. Also its like this in linux aswell. When I first set up my ps3 the picture was green until I changed the display settings, I think I had to uncheck 576i or something like that.
