i have an NTSC ps2 with swap magic 3.6 discs and an NTSC tv. when i play PAL games the video is off center and i cant see a lot of the picture. is it the tv or the ps2 that causes that? and is there any way to fix it without y-fix?(it will be my last resort)

Pal and NTSC aren't compatible that's why your screen is off.

Ive heard that people who use PAL on ntsc also get Black and white screens.

It's not the tv it's the ps2.

I would get the game on NTSC

I don't in any shape or form support piracy, But if you have bought the game and own it, you can possibly find it at Gamestorrents.com where you can have a copy of it in NTSC.

That is if you can play back ups. If not buy the game in NTSC

Its neither the tv nor the ps2. Load up swap magic and put in your game. Choose NTSC as the output when you load up the game, not PAL. "This is using Swap Magic 3.8" So am not sure if that option exists on the 3.6 or not.

Also generally you can't play PAL games on an NTSC system "meaning you can't play european games in america" because of the different signal the devices output. However, Swap Magic patches the game and changes the signal so that you can play it on your system "Swap Magic 3.8 I know for sure does that"

Actually most PAL Games are off centered but not by a whole lot. The PAL games that I've seen played on the NTSC consoles are maybe shifted downward an inch or two. If it is completely off center then try a different PAL game and see if it does the same thing. If it does the same thing then it might be swap magic not patching it correctly to the resolution of your TV.

Swap Magic 3.8 does it just fine with the shift of the screen downward by an inch. Maybe the version you have does not support that kind of thing.

ive tried a few games and they are all off centered, not by a huge margin but i still want to fix it. Sometimes it doesnt allow me to see some dialog, or i cant see my health bar or something like that. I dont think theres any problem with the swap magic. its probably my tv
