I have a friend that put system software 3.03 OE-C on my son's psp. He also game him about 6 games, and instructed me on how to swap out these six games on the memory stick.

My question is, since this was done about a year ago, is there any upgrades that I should do, and how easy is it to get new games for my son?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

3.03 OE-C is outdated >_<
Update to 3.71m33-4 as many current games will not work on 3.03 OE-C :)

How do I know which firmware version I have in order to upgrade to 3.71

Forgive me for not being technically savvy and up-to-date, but all I see is quotes from me, but nothing written by you. I am still trying to find out if I can go directly from 3.03 OE-C to the newer 3.51, and where I can find my firmware version.

you find out which firmware/system software you're on, like so:-

1. Turn on the PSP.
2. Go to the "Settings" category (it's the one farthest to the left).
3. Scroll down to the "System Settings" icon and press x.
4. Scroll down to "System Information" and press x.
5. The screen will display the PSP's MAC Address, System Software Version, and Nickname. The "System Software Version" is the firmware version.

assuming you're on 3.03oe-c - you go to 3.40oe and then to 3.52m33-4 and then to one of these - 3.71/3.80/3.90m33.

ill make it simple dont worry

your cfw is very out dated as you know so you need to get up to a newer cfw like 3.71m33,3.80m33 or 3.90m33 (i suggest thoughs because all games run on them at the moment). because you have 3.03oe you will need to get to 3.52m33-2 first before you can update to 3.71m33+

if you need a tutorial on how to do this then click on my userbar then go to my blog and there is a tutorial for updating to any cfw read it from the start.

i suggest going to 3.71m33 but its up to you.

as for getting more games i can realy give you any site on where to get them from but ill give you a link to a homebrew that will rip umd discs straight to the memory stick [link]
