I use the chaptering tool in TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 with DivX Authoring and DivX Labs DivX Author 1.5 to automatically generate chapters. The problem is that if I don't manually do through and name each chapter after they are automatically created, the chaptering doesn't work in the final video file.

I will get some Chinese character as the chapter names (same character for every chapter) and selecting a chapter returns to the beginning of the video when using DivX's official player ver. 6.7.0. In Windows Media Player with the DivX pop-up chapter tool, the chapters are all named "W", but choosing the chapters works like it should.

I am using six different computers, two Vista Ultimate, three XP Pro and one Tablet Edition. All with the same exact results.

How do I fix this and what am I doing wrong?

If there is no fix, is there a way to automatically generate chapter numbers/names (1,2,3...) so I don't have to manually name each chapter? (Kinda defeats the purpose of chaptering automatically if I have to name each one manually.)

Thank you.

I could be wrong, but as far as I know there's no auto-chapter function in TMPGenc Author3 with DivX Authoring. Personally, I use the slider or click on the thumbnails; then, use the Mark the current frame with a chapter button (the one that looks like a "flag" on bottom left) to create the chapters.
