I have a phat psp with 3.90 M33 FW and last night my brother dropped my psp and now whenever i turn it on the power light turns green, but the screen stays black and the memory stick light stays black as well. I've tried going into recovery mode, and i also tried to use a pandora battery and magic mem stick but nothing happens. so i was thinking that if i couldn't fix it then either its broken or there's a new generation of super bricked psp's

Definitely something wrong with the power board. Does the light show green or red. The power board has the power switch on it. Replace that and it should be an easy fix. That's the first thing I replace when someone brings one to my shop with the same problem. HERE, this will get you up and running.

You have broken something inside your PSP.

>D A brick is corrupt/missing flash0. There is now an unrecoverable brick, but it only happens to someone with a corrupt IDStorage, and even that can be fixed if the person has a NAND backup of the psp that is messed. So no, this is not a new generation of brick.
You dropped it, you broke it, end of story.

no there isnt really as far as i know. the problem might be with rest of the console not receiving power from the power board.
so i would first off all open up the faceplate take off the screen then take the screen holder off.
you should see a small ribbon that connects the power board to the mother board take that out and put it back in again.
also have a look at the bit where the battery connects to the motherboard that is where the power is being received from (if that is broken then ur a bit stuffed and will have to see if you can get a replacement but you will have to solder it in because its on the mother board.)
put the screen holder and screen back on turn the console on and see if it works. if not then replace your power board. if that still doesnt help then there may be a problem with the mother board as i said above.
also try plugging it into the ac adapter with out the battery because that bypasses the battery and goes direct to the mother board if that works then there is a problem with the battery sending power again as i said above
hope that all helps 0_<
it all seens to be a bit of a bummer.
also id get your brother to buy you a new one 0_<

the lcd cables are in correctly, and no sound or anything. The umd drive doesn't even spin. The only thing that happens is the power led turns green, and when I charge it it turns orange, nothing else happens.

Probably cracked your motherboard, disconnecting your flash chips from the rest. There's a bypass, of course, so that's why your PSP still behaves like a brick. Find someone with TimeMachine, and boot from the memory stick for the rest of your days.
