i would like to run linux on my xbox strickly for surfing the web, and office applications. I have tried to install linux mandrake but kept getting installation errors.

Does it matter what bios is running on the console? I have evox d6 w/ eject fix.

Can I have linux boot off the dashboard? i would like to boot linux from the dashboard rather than having to place the boot disk in the disk drive. i dont really mind if i do though.

Can i still play backups with linux installed? i read somewhere that if linux is installed, you will no longer be able to run backups, only originals.

If anyone has linux running and willing to give me some pointers, i would appreciate it greatly.
