i havent installed 1.5 kernel add but in the recovery mode when i go into configuration one of the things says
"game folder homebrew (currently : 3.71 kernel)"
when i click on it after is says
"game folder homebrew (currently : 1.5 kernel)"
does that mean i can play homebrew

You can play only those homebrew that support 3.xx kernel :)
The 1.50 option happens for everyone but has no effect unless you install the 1.50 kernel add-on :)
Also, 1.50 kernel is only for the PSP Classic :)
