I would like to know if there is a way to connect a PS2 to a computer monitor? Cause the home TV is shared, so I would like to play PS2 in my room without getting a new TV.

Your going to need a VGA box.
It will take your component video input and convert it to vga output. That way your VGA monitor will pick it up.
Here are two that are very rich in features.

-First

On this link it will ask you to install the 'traditional chinese language pack'. Just hit 'cancel'
-Second

I would say that any good vga box is going to set you back at least $50. You don't want to go cheap and have it break a couple of days/weeks later.

Here is another vga box. I found this one on newegg and it has free shipping.

The best one would be the one that works best with your equipment.
Most of these support output in high resolution. You should be fine though, since you have a 8600. You should also check out what your monitor is capable of running in (resolution wise).

I will be upgrading my rig later this year, then it'll be blazing fast, lol, joking but it'll be a good build and i'm going to buy a 24" monitor...with HDMI port for a PS3(If i'm getting it) and i also want to play my PS2 on the monitor but it doesn't have composite ports...and i live in South Africa so it's extremely difficult to get my hands on these VGA boxes

I'm sorry man, I was thinking you were in the states.
The only places that I can think of that ship worldwide (and are pretty reliable) are Amazon and Ebay. Though shipping is around $25-$35 usually.

I rechecked the links I gave you on my first post. Found out that the vga box in the 'first' link does ship worldwide.

Found this vga box as well, seller also ships worldwide.
Link

Was also able to find the XCM vga box from a reseller who ships worldwide.

Hope this helps you out.

I've never personally bought from there but the site looks pretty legit to me.
Payment looks like it is through paypal and it is SSL secured (128 bit). I remember when I first bought something online. Thinking hackers would steal my numbers, and I would end up with a huge bill.

Ordering stuff online is pretty safe, so long as you play it safe and not buy from shady sites.
