I have never seen a chip like that. This is on a ps2?

Yes, it is on my v4 fattie. It works by hitting reset 1,2, or 3 times with tray open and closed depending on the type of backup. Also has to have AR2. It is eleven wires but has no branding on it. I can't find one like it on the web anywhere.

Yeah, honestly I'm really not sure what chip it is. I think it's a fairly old one though.

Yeah I think it's one of the early plug mods for the ps2. I'm pretty sure they won't work for anything later than version 4.

It looks really simple and plain. Oh well, I am getting ready to setup hdloader and a 120 gig hdd paired with the pc and all so no biggie. It works good though. It does everything like playing dvd backups and all. It's a bit annoying cause for dvd backups u have 2 time everything perfect for swapping and all. It takes me 4 or 5 times sometimes to get it right LOL. :)
