Verbatim DVD+R DL for Backup's

I've been looking around to try and find some Verbatim's for burning backup's, but it seems recently that people are getting bad quality verbatims (ones form India). I figured my best source would be newegg.com, but people are saying these are no longer from Singapore, and they are getting 90% fail rates. I also read in the dvd-burning tutorial that the best-buy disks are having the same problem.
Is there anyone who has bought Verbatims lately that have had few coasters? Also where were these purchased. I am looking to order these online, and hoping to spend less than $2 a disk preferably.

edit: Also I saw someone linking supermediastore.com as a good reputable place for buying media, and was wondering if anyone had any knowledge or experience with them.

These are the ones I got like a week ago and they are the ones that are MIS (made in singapore).
Edit: Though these discs are not in stock right now. If you live close to a best buy, I would go and check to see if they have that are MIS. It should say on the back.
Supermediastore.com is awesome. I have ordered from them like 4 or 5 five times now and have always been satisfied with their service.

Thanks for the quick reply, I may go with supermediastore then since newegg is out of stock, and the spindles of 20 seem to be giving people problems, and I'm not that close to a best buy atm.

Supermediastore.com is a great site to get them. You may end up paying a few extra dollars but a lot of times they have free shipping deals. Plus they give you the media ID of the discs you you can check them out before you buy them. They are known for only carrying the quality stuff.
back in the PS2 days when everyone was getting bad Taiyo Yuden discs they always had a 100% genuine guarantee on theirs so that you knew you were getting the real thing.
But i can tell you after reading the reviews on the kind that i bought, there were a few that stated that they got MII (Made In India) discs.
So your only sure fire way is like HG27 suggests, go to a store like Best Buy that sells them and see the package with your own two eyes.

I have YET to have a bad burn with MII, so im asking you what burner are you using? I got Pioneer 112 and have NOT had any issues at all, and NEVER been banned from LIve EVER.
Possibly u need to update Firmware, other then that IM taking a PRE emptive strike on this to find the 2nd best media now just in case.

Or you can stop reading the hype about using only verbatim discs and use sony or memorex which i have been using for a year and had no problems with ever! and you save money, they are about a dollar a piece. Verbatimes are good dont get me wrong but why pay double? and even if one of your sonys or memorex go bad in 5 months (considering you still even play the game) then you can still burn another copy and even then you break even! I suggest buying them to people who are starting out making backups as well, this way they dont have too many expensive coasters and xmas tree ornaments

When you have a shot laser from using your piece of crap Memorex DVDs, don't start crying to us, son. Just because some of us are smart and can afford Verbatims, unlike yourself.

smart and cant afford verbatims? this coming from the guy that said people on this forum are smart and dont use macs lol yet i have the 3000 dollar macbook pro that you were trash talking in my other thread...no laser problems EVER actually and you have no clue what you are talking about so you should just stop the thread jacking and negativity because no one in interested in your personal hatred, like i said in my other 10 threads that you keep sh*t talking, this forum is for helping people not for you to put people down

LOL, me and wabashman. Dindi, u say and have said stuff too to people so don't act all innocent. No man, I just don't like people coming on here and asking questions which are EASILY available on the board elsewhere or through Google. Too many lazy people here. I just don't like the happy altnerative lifestyle couple, mrs yvert and trixxi because they ask the dumbest things and they start crying when I call them out. listen - jus buy Verbatims - if u cant get them then wait till u can find them ... dont listen to what these other ppl are sayin ...
it'll payoff in the long run ...
if u can get a successful burn on ANY DL then 9x's out of 10 it will play on ur xbox - THAT DOESNT mean its not gonna be stressful on ur laser ... i burned a game on Office Depot DL's (4th class media)and it played but it was really puttin my lens to work - u coud hear the lens strugglin and it was longer load times ...
last time i checked Verbatims were the only 1st Class DL media on the market ... they are expensive but they are the closet discs u can get to 360 Originals ...
more expensive but well worth it ... jus use them ...

I have two pcs and a mac and all the discs work fine :-) but you might want to listen to mrxbox because he has 2 college degrees lol whatever that means...buy verbatim though because mrxbox says so he is loved among the boards here and is all knowing

im not mad just responsive, i havent called you a girl or started any such put downs...i know you feel good about yourself when you trash talk so you can do it all day and ill respond to as many as possible for you because i know you feed off it! you cant really put people down when you dont know anything about them, so i find it hard to take offense to random crap your saying because it doesnt make sense, thats like me calling you a stupid hick, when you could live in NY and it doesnt make any sense, so enjoy your putdowns that make no sense (only in your mind) because they amuse me and everyone else on here!

Mrs yvert, I think you learned your lesson, like I said before, just try to do research before you post and people like me won't call you out. Whoppee, you made a backup, let me know when you've made about 200, like myself and zero coasters. Just don't talk to me anymore, try to find someone else to bait into getting banned, you're not worth the time.
