I'm buying another ps2 at the end of the week, a silver one, so I'm assuming it'll be the latest model. I've heard that the sensors can be blocked on these with just 2 magickeysII pieces, the disc brake piece and the front cover trigger piece. I kind of need to know because the third magickeysII piece (the one with the long hook) came broken, so I'm wondering if I should order another set

Its kind of a controversy at the moment, some need the 3rd piece and some don't.
Just try the 2 pieces, put in a disk and start it up, open the lid and if the disk is still spinning, that is all you need. If not, then you need to order the latest tools. Swap Tool Pro 2006 or similar.

I bought two PS2 slims SCPH-79001's. Both black and both from the same store Gamestop. One has the third censor and the other doesn't.

All credit goes to Ace_2 for the guide and the pictures. Please go to his thread for more information.

I put a straw all the way down onto the censor and it worked wonderfully.

Conclusion: Some SCPH-79001 have the third censor while others don't. The simple fix for the 3rd censor is to insert a straw like what is pictured in the link above.

Hope this helps out the noobies that are reading this. Also you don't have to open your PS2 to block the 3rd censor, thats what using the straw does.

Edit #2: Also this forum has A LOT of information on it. I had to spend almost 20 minutes just to find the link I posted above so, a lot of the questions you might ask are probably answered on some other threads. Just use the search feature, it works.
