I have started burning DVDs to DVD+R memorex media and have done so succesfully however on sometimes the movie will not play to completion on my X-BOX any ideas why this may be?

Does it only do it on your X-box? or on other players?

It is more than likely that the media you are using is responsible. A typical problem with poor quality discs are errors on the outer rim of the disc, due to poor manufacturing, which show up after burning. With movies this causes freezing which can be particularly annoying if you are watching a good movie that then fails to play to the end. Try changing the discs - I would recommend Ritek brand. Memorex have a mixed reputation but my experience with them was not good also. Also look at the DVD-R media threads.
