I have an .avi of Eastern Promises which is in English with many parts spoken in Russian. I've now downloaded 3 different .srt files but when I play the move with VLC player, no subtitles. I've put the .srt files in the same folder as the .avi file and then clicked on the .avi file to play the movie - nada. I've also made sure to name the files correctly ie. "movie.avi" and "movie.srt" so that the file names are exactly the same except for the file extension. Anything else to try?
