Is the original PSP LCD panel compatible with the new PSP Lite system?
Heres my predicament: I have a PSP lite and the LCD cracked internally, i want to get it fixed and i found somebody selling an original, (black), PSP for cheap. Can i swamp the good LCD from the old PSP and put it in my PSP lite?
Thanks.

As far as I can tell, a fat screen will not fit inside a slim body.
My reasoning behind this is that most companies sell two different types of replacement screens, the 1000 (fat) and the 2000 (slim).
As well, the extra parts of the fat replacement screens I don't believe would fit inside of the slim's body.

Thanks guys. After doing more searching ive confirmed that the fat psp LCD wont go into the slim psp.
Right now im trying to hunt down a replacement slim LCD. The only ones i can find are from online stores and they all are out of stock. They are easy to tell from the fat lcd because they have different cables. The one linked above is a fat lcd, here is a slim one.

Does someone know where i can get me one?
Thanks

you live in the uk right?
if so then the link i gave you is sold out heres another one where you send it away and they will replace it for you
heres one on Amazon which is a bit expensive.
again here but expensive
if i was you i would wait until the link i gave you first becomes in stock because it is very very cheap for a slim screen.
if you live in the usa then the link a gave you first is in stock
hope that all helps 0_<

Im in the USA. That last link was the only slim lcd youve linked, look at the cable compared to the first one you linked. Im not sure if they ship to the usa though.

That link is broken, it sends me back to afterdawn. But if you found one please post the auction number, that would be great.
Thanks for the research!

I recently purchased a replacement lcd screen from richspsp.com and I wanted to know how to remove the ribbon without damaging it. The site said that it should fit. Are there any differences in thickness? I'm told that the manufacturer is Sharp.

the LCD screen is easy to replace (i my self have done it may times)
all you have to do is follow these steps
1)remove the faceplate screws (not for getting the one on the bottom of the psp)
2)remove the homebar and then remove the lcd screen from the holder (get a flat head screw driver and pry it open from the side slowly)
3)remove the large lcd ribbon do this by flicking up the black clip get under it with the flat head scew driver and lift it up slowly(dont do it from the middle as it may snap the clip
4)remove the back light ribbon do the same thing as the lcd ribbon apart from the clip is the other way round. pull the ribbon slowly to get it to come out.
5)get the new screen and put the large ribbon into the lcd connector and flip the clip back down when the ribbon is fully pushed in.
6)do the same with the back light. you may have problems with putting the ribbon in because there are to small little bits that come out of the side of the ribbon you can use them to push it in (get the screw driver and push foward on one side and then the other until it is all the way in) and then flick the clip back down
7)now place the screen back into the holder make sure it all clips in and then put the homebar back in
8)now put the faceplate back on and screw all the screws back in making sure that you dont blunt the heads of the screws (like i have done)
9)now turn the psp on and enjoy the crisp new screen [ ]
hope that helps out 0_<
also sony dont make any of there screens the psp ones are made by sharp and there bravia tv are all made by samsung but sony is still a very good make they cant make everything 0_<
also is ur psp a fat or a slim and did you buy a fat or a slim LCD screen?

The PSP-1001 and PSP-2001 models use different LCD displays. They are NOT interchangable.
You can find the PSP-2001 LCD BY CLICKING HERE. They are a bit expensive but they are in stock.
